SOTD: HELLOWEEN-"I WANT OUT"

    Celebrating Halloween this year, and what's more, the first Halloween of this blog, we are going to focus on a song released as a single on this day three whole decades ago already! I am talking of course of Helloween's (how appropriate!) "I Want Out", single number two of their 1988 masterpeice "Keeper of the Seven Keys pt.II".

   A recognisable song that kicks full in right away, covered by Sonata Arctica and Hammerfall among others, it stands out for its unmistakably punkish lyrics, very much unlike other Helloween songs, or anything else that Kai Hansen has done since. Hansen, who wrote the song, has said in an interview that this was in fact due to him really wanting out of the band. Well well.

   Without further ado, let's appreciate the most appropriate song for this day, and don't forget to add it to your last minute Halloween playlists for some vigirous headbanging! ;)
